CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
EDUCATION
Susan graduated from the University of Western Ontario with her Bachelor of Music degree as well as her Associate diplomas in both Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy.
PRIVATE TEACHING
Susan has been teaching all levels of piano for many years, having started
teaching as a teenager. She has been able to make a successful career out
of teaching.
MASTER CLASSES
While travelling through Europe for several years, Susan attended Master
Classes with some of the finest musicians in the world such as Martha
Argerich, Alfred Brendel, and Mstislav Rostropovich.
MASTER CLASS INSTRUCTION
Susan has also conducted many Master Classes in Piano Performance within her own studio as well as when adjudicating.
BOOKS
Susan has written a series of 10 books of musicianship skills which contain
comprehensive exercises in all aspects of aural and keyboard skills.
Susan has also written several volumes of original compositions for the first two
years of piano study.
PERFORMANCE
Susan has accompanied many graduation chamber music and vocal soloists
in concerts and festivals.
KINGSTON PIANO TRIO
Susan is a founding member and the pianist for the Kingston Piano Trio
continuing to perform chamber music concerts in Kingston.
ORMTA
Susan was President of the Hamilton-Halton branch of the Ontario Registered
Music Teachers Association, as well as being Zone Representative on the
Provincial Council.
